New App – NPR Unbound

Posted in Uncategorized at 2:55 am by Jason

Based on a request by Radio Sweethearts to create a completely random NPR podcast, I created NPR Unbound. It does basically that. I can’t go back to 1987, unfortunately, because NPR only started encoding in MP3 format in 2005.

Each day will generate a new random podcast. This way podcast feed readers won’t completely explode upon reading a completely random feed.

I thought it was a great idea, and it only took me a few hours to implement. I really should be sleeping instead, though.

I’ll put the source code in subversion one of these days. It’s not as exciting as All Tweets, though.

Have fun

Um, wow. I don’t know what to say. I had no clue I could actually get people to do my bidding, but this looks awesome!

I’ll be sure to link to this early next week; we don’t (usually) post on the weekends.

No problem, I’ve been looking for fun things to do with the API.

Very cool Jason! I just subscribed to this in Google Reader and found an interesting article on Steve Martin that I had missed. Thanks!

Tell me. Will you be posting the link to the subversion repository for this? Will you also be making the All Tweets Considered application available as open source? Will this be available through subversion as well?

    Great work!
